Some operators only need a visual check during inspection. In that case select a converter with local display and totalizer. No controller connection is needed.
Installation Notes for DN50 Pool Lines
Install the meter in a straight pipe section. Use 5 DN upstream and 3 DN downstream from the meter. For DN50 this means 250 mm upstream and 150 mm downstream. If the pump is directly upstream, increase the straight run to 10 DN.

The meter totalizer shows volume. An operator checks the totalized m3 after a known run time. Example. A pool has 45 m3 volume and the code requires a 3 hour turnover. Required flow is 15 m3/h. The operator records the totalizer. One hour later the total should increase by about 15 m3. If it only increases by 11 m3, the pool is not meeting turnover.
In practice most operators prefer a 4-20 mA signal to the controller. The controller converts flow to turnover rate and alarms if the value falls below target. This avoids manual log errors.
